OPTIMA uses high purity plates which are wrapped tightly to provide closer  plate spacing and more surface area.  This means that, unlike conventional deep cycle batteries, the OPTIMA DEEP CYCLE produces high power on demand.  The high purity plates coupled with the large intercell connectors and the "tab to strap" connection , give OPTIMA the lowest internal resistance of any 12-volt lead acid battery.  The unique cell design and paste chemistry allows the OPTIMA to out-cycle most batteries dedicated only to deep cycle applications.  This means that the OPTIMA last longer and is more economical for users.
